Chapters include the permanent establishment of castles in the eleventh century and continue with their use during the Civil War of the seventeenth century.

John Norris was born and educated on Jersey in the Channel Islands and now lives in South Wales. He works as a battlefield tour guide, photographer and researcher and has written many books on military history.
